Rusty Young, P.E. – Process Engineering Manager
Mr. Young is a Chemical Engineer with nearly twenty-three (23) years of varied engineering experience including five (5) years of project management. He is a member of the DIERS users’ group and is very experienced with the various codes and guidelines for relief system design such as API 520/521/2000, NFPA 30, ASME Section I and Section VIII and ASHRAE. He has also written a relief system training manual. Mr. Young is experienced in relief system design, heat exchanger design, hydraulic calculations, P&IDs, PFDs, field data collection, equipment specification and process simulation. Mr. Young also spent four (4) months in Malaysia to start up a new engineering firm.
Mr. Young graduated with a B.S. Chemical Engineering from McNeese State University, Lake Charles, LA in May 1996. Mr. Young is a Registered Professional Engineer in the State of Louisiana, P.E. 41307.
Mark Nevils – PSM Department Manager
Mr. Nevils has over twenty-four (24) years in the chemical and refining industries. Experience includes PHA and LOPA facilitation, PSM related activities, unit turnaround process support, and unit production engineering. Have performed tank venting/hydraulic calculations at multiple work locations. Throughout career, have evaluated over 500 low pressure tanks for adequate pressure/vacuum relief protection.
Mr. Nevils graduated with a B.S. Chemical Engineering from McNeese State University, Lake Charles, LA in May 1995.
Glen Boaz, P.E. – Civil/Structural Engineering Department Manager
Mr. Boaz has twenty-five (25) years’ experience providing engineering support for modifications and additions to structures and foundations for manufacturing facilities. He is experienced in assembling project plans and specifications for the civil and structural portions of commercial and industrial projects. Mr. Boaz is able to provide engineering analysis for the structural design of buildings and other structures as well as hydraulic analysis and site design for facilities. He also executes and oversees drafting to produce detail-oriented construction drawings while working closely with owners and other engineers to insure simplicity, constructability, and economy in the design.
Mr. Boaz has a B.S. in Engineering with Civil Engineering Option, and graduated from McNeese State University, Lake Charles, LA in December 1994. He is a Registered Professional Engineer in Civil Engineering in the State of Louisiana P.E. 29016, a Registered Professional Engineer in the State of Texas P.E. 97979, and a Registered Profession Engineer in the State of Wyoming P.E. 13989.
Jeffery A. Cherp, P.E. – Instrument/Electrical Engineering Department Manager
Mr. Cherp has twenty-six (26) plus years of electrical engineering experience in the fields of commercial and industrial engineering. His experience includes design of automation systems (including PLC design, programming, and associated communications), design of commercial electrical systems (including lighting, power, communications, and fire alarms), electrical load analysis, instrumentation, hazardous area classification, and motor controls.
Mr. Cherp graduated from McNeese State University in Lake Charles, LA with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering in May 1994. He is a Registered Professional Engineer in the State of Louisiana P.E. 31252, a Registered Professional Engineer in the State of Texas P.E. 98692, a Registered Professional Engineering in the State of Arkansas P.E. 15088, and also a Registered Professional Engineer in the State of Wyoming P.E. 13990.
Willi Schippers, P.E. – Mechanical Engineering Department Manager
Mr. Schippers supervises all Mechanical Engineering tasks completed by the department. He is an engineer with twenty-five (25) years of experience in project management, project engineering, and project design for the petrochemical and pulp and paper industry. Major design experience includes stress analysis, pressure vessel rerates, hydraulic design, relief valves, and other miscellaneous mechanical design duties.
Mr. Schippers graduated in 1994 from the Technical University of Aachen in Germany and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Concentration Energy & Ecology. He is a Registered Professional Engineer in the State of Louisiana P.E. 31291, a Registered Professional Engineer in the State of Texas P.E. 109434, and also a Registered Professional Engineer in the State of Wyoming P.E. 14157.
